Update: Lexus Driver, 23, Dead After Northampton County Police Chase Ends In Route 248 Crash

A 23-year-old man driving a Lexus was killed after crashing into a concrete barrier during a high-speed police chase in Northampton County Tuesday afternoon, reports say.

Jimmy Nguyen attempted to flee from officers on Route 248 eastbound before he crashed in front of Lehigh Cement shortly after 2 p.m., LehighValleyLive reports citing Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek.

A portion of the roadway between Jandy Boulevard and Hollo Road has been shut down for the ongoing investigation, the reports says. It is not clear when it will reopen.

Nguyen's passengers suffered moderate injuries in the crash, according to CBS.
